Principal's Message
Dear Families,
It has been another great week at Strawberry Point! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed visiting classrooms and witnessing the incredible work being done. It is a pleasure to observe our dedicated teachers providing excellent instruction, while our students engage and thrive in their learning. Sometimes, it’s easier to show rather than tell—after all, the old adage, "A picture is worth a thousand words," still holds true. Enjoy these snapshots of our week!
Variety Show
It’s official… Strawberry Point really does have talent! Thank you to all of the students who showcased their many talents to entertain their adoring public and to the fifth grade MCs for hosting the show. I would also like to express gratitude to all the parent volunteers who generously gave their time and energy to make the Strawberry Point Variety Show a tremendous success. You helped create a memorable and enjoyable experience for the talented performers and audience. Special thanks to Riki Svanfeldt who chaired this event. Without Riki's hard work and dedication, this event would not have been possible. THANK YOU!
Raising and Releasing Trout
Our fourth grade students have had the unique experience of raising and releasing trout. The students began by setting up a coldwater tank in their classroom. Eggs were delivered and then the students observed the amazing transformation of eggs, alevin and fingerlings. Students also learned about the nitrogen cycle, water chemistry and how to care for trout. This culminated in an enjoyable field trip to Bon Tempe Reservoir to release the trout that the students raised in the classroom.
All School Read and Breakfast
It was wonderful to see everyone this morning, enjoying the company of friends and classmates while eating breakfast and reading a good book. Many thanks to the PTA for making our last All School Read for this year extra special!
Book Exchange
A big thank you to our Student Council for putting together a wonderful book exchange this week! Your hard work made it a great success, and we hope that everyone enjoys diving into their new books. Happy Reading!
Wildcare
Thanks to the PTA, our third grade students enjoyed a visit from Wildcare. The students learned about habitats, adaptations and biodiversity. Thank you for supporting our students with these fun and enriching opportunities.
Smile… It’s Picture Day!
Picture Day is coming! Mugsy Clicks will be on campus to take class photographs on Thursday, April 17th.
Wishing you a wonderful spring break!
Sincerely,
Kimberley

As we approach Spring Break, we want to take a moment to celebrate the exceptional learning environment we’ve all worked together to create. The partnership between our families, students, educators, and community partners like the Kiddo!, PTA and Early Education Marin continues to make a powerful difference in the lives of our children. We are truly grateful for each of you and the support you provide every day.
We invite you to continue sharing your ideas on how we can further enrich the educational experience and ensure we are creating a World Class Education for all Mill Valley children. Your input is vital to our shared vision.
We would love for you to join us for the upcoming Community Chats on April 17th. This is a great opportunity for all voices to be heard, as we discuss our goals and the exciting future of our schools.
Enjoy a restful and joyful Spring Break with your loved ones, and we look forward to hearing from you at the Community Chats!
Trustee Office Hours: A New Opportunity for Community Engagement
This week, Trustees Abdoli and Nakatani held the first in a series of “Trustee Office Hour” events, providing the Mill Valley community with a unique opportunity to connect with Board members in an informal, accessible setting.
The purpose of these office hours is to offer community members a chance to meet with representatives of our governing Board outside of official Board meetings. These meetings are designed to foster open dialogue, allowing staff and residents to ask questions, share concerns, or simply learn more about the work our Board is doing. Importantly, these events are structured in a way that respects the Brown Act, a law that ensures transparency and public access to government decision-making.
During these office hours, community members are encouraged to bring up a wide range of topics. Whether you have questions about specific school policies, ideas for future initiatives, or concerns about the district’s direction, the office hours are an excellent opportunity for dialogue. Unlike public comment during formal Board meetings, which is often limited to a few minutes and conducted in a more structured setting, the office hours allow for more personal, one-on-one conversation. This gives participants the freedom to discuss their thoughts in greater detail, without the time constraints of a full Board meeting.
The “Trustee Office Hour” events are open to all members of the community, including parents, teachers, students, and residents who are interested in learning more about what the Board does for the district. Whether you're looking for clarity on an issue, seeking to voice a concern, or simply curious about how the Board operates, these office hours are an ideal venue for engagement.
We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with your Board members and become more involved in the decisions that shape our schools.
